Hosted, small-group trips limited to 12 women

Two women with backpacks looking out over green mountains and the Atlantic coast

Wild Phoenix Adventures gives the woman behind the business permission to set down her responsibilities and rediscover what lights her up.

You've built something that matters. You've weathered the hard seasons, figured things out, and kept moving forward. But when you're always the one making things happen, it's easy to put your own dreams, adventures, and even yourself on the back burner.

You keep telling yourself, someday.

What if you didn't have to wait?

Sometimes, stepping away from everything you're building is exactly what helps you see what comes next.

Wild Phoenix at a glance

Our small groups travel to places wild enough to quiet the noise and beautiful enough to make you stop and breathe.

Twelve women, not a tour bus

Small by design, our groups give you the chance to get to know everyone, share unexpected moments, and build real friendships along the way.

Adventure, not a resort

Trade the pool deck for a mountain trail, the buffet line for a long lunch by the sea, and the souvenir T-shirt for more stories than your friends will have time to hear.

Conversation, not a conference

No networking agendas. No sales pitches. Just women who know what it takes to build something, swapping stories over long dinners and trading ideas until the restaurant starts stacking chairs.

What we do

We take the road less traveled.

Think volcanic islands, turquoise coves, mountain villages, and trails with views that take your breath away. You'll hike, bike, ride horseback, snorkel, paddleboard, and kayak your way through wild, beautiful places. Along the way, you'll taste the local food, learn the traditions of the people who live there, and say yes to things you might never try on your own.

Some places make you stop talking and simply look.

Picture yourself high above the Atlantic, surrounded by volcanic peaks and deep green valleys. You paddle beneath rugged cliffs, wander through villages where generations-old traditions are still alive, and scan the open water for whales and dolphins.

HikeFollow a local guide through Anaga's ancient laurel forest down to the sea, explore the lava fields of Teide National Park beneath Spain's highest peak, then walk village to village across northern La Gomera. Along the way, you'll hear Silbo Gomero, the whistled language islanders have used to call to one another across the ravines.
PaddleKayak beneath La Gomera's volcanic cliffs and explore its coves from sea level, with time to swim or snorkel if conditions allow. Then board a small-group boat and head out onto the open Atlantic to watch for whales and dolphins.
TasteSettle in for a long seafood lunch by the water, sit down to a traditional Gomeran meal of watercress stew, smoked goat cheese, and almogrote, and toast the week with wines made from the island's forastera grape.
ReigniteGather for the Wild Phoenix Reignite Session, an afternoon of trading ideas and celebrating what you've built with women who get it. Then spend the rest of the day wandering town, finding a café, or taking a swim.

$5,500 to $6,500 per person. The final price will be determined by the end of October. Your trip includes six nights of lodging, every activity, private van transportation, the ferry between the islands, local beer and wine, and every meal from our welcome dinner to our farewell dinner, except one free evening to explore on your own. Airfare is not included.

What you take home

The trip ends on Saturday, but it doesn't stay in the Canary Islands. On Monday morning, you'll sit down at the same desk with the same to-do list, and somehow none of it looks the same. The idea you scribbled on a napkin at dinner will turn into your next big move. Your phone will light up with messages from women who are cheering you on. Somewhere in the middle of an ordinary afternoon, you'll catch yourself smiling at the memory of standing on a volcano with friends you didn't have a week ago.

You'll remember the woman beneath all the responsibilities, the one with big ideas, a wild streak, and a spark that never really went away.

Your hiking boots will be dirty, and your camera roll will never recover.

You came for the adventure. You go home with more clarity about what's next, a renewed passion for the business you've built, and your spark burning bright again.

Who we travel with

For women who have built something real and are ready for more.

Wild Phoenix is for women who've lived the entrepreneurial journey, with all its risks, rewards, twists and turns. Maybe you've been at it for decades. Maybe you're navigating a new chapter. Maybe you've accomplished more than you ever imagined, yet feel there's still so much left to experience.

You don't need a five-year plan or a perfectly polished version of yourself. Just a sense of adventure, an open mind, and a genuine desire to connect.

We're not here to compare accomplishments. We're here to expand our horizons.

Meet your host

Starting over doesn't mean starting from nothing.

Hi, I'm Dianne, founder of Wild Phoenix Adventures, and I'll be your host on our upcoming adventures.

I've always loved the phoenix, not because it's a beautiful symbol, but because of what it represents: the chance to become something new after a chapter ends.

My life has had more than a few of those chapters. Paul and I moved to Colorado in 1994 with everything we owned in a U-Haul, no jobs, and about $1,500 to our name. When the dot-com crash took my corporate job, we bet on ourselves and bought a little catering company. A few months later, Sept. 11 happened, and nearly every client we had went quiet, so we rebuilt the business piece by piece. While we were running the catering company, I started a network marketing business, and I eventually transitioned out of catering. For 14 years, I coached women across the United States, Canada, and Australia as they stepped into entrepreneurship.

The residual income from that business let our family of four put everything in storage, pack one backpack each, and spend a year traveling to 25 countries, with every flight, train, place to stay, and activity planned by me. It's still the best decision I've ever made. In 2024, that same business collapsed almost overnight, and I remade myself once again. Today, my biggest focus is my AI consultancy for small businesses. I also run a land business, and my son and I own an organic lawn treatment company in Northern Colorado.

Travel is where I feel most alive. I've been designing the idea of Wild Phoenix for three years. Now I'm building it, because I believe our stories are still being written.

Where we're headed next

Three more trips in 2027, each its own kind of adventure.

Every trip is built around the character of its destination, with active days, local culture, and room to discover something new.

Limestone cliffs above turquoise water on Sardinia's eastern coast May

Sardinia, Italy

The Supramonte + the Gulf of Orosei

Sardinia's eastern coast pairs limestone mountains and rugged trails with hidden coves and clear turquoise water. We'll explore the Supramonte, hike the dramatic Gorropu canyon, and spend a day by boat reaching Cala Mariolu and Cala Goloritzé. May lets us see the island before the summer heat.

A kayaker paddling past a towering blue iceberg Late summer

Alaska

Glaciers, wildlife + fishing

Head out onto the ocean past towering glaciers, reel in your own catch, and watch for bears and moose on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula, where the wilderness is so big that every worry you packed suddenly feels very small. If you want more, add an optional hiking extension in Denali.

A white village with a blue-domed clock tower beneath rugged mountains September

Albania

The Accursed Mountains + the Riviera

Albania brings together dramatic mountains, traditional villages, an unforgettable ferry ride, and a Mediterranean coastline. We'll explore the Albanian Alps, ride the Koman ferry, and head to the Ionian Riviera as the summer crowds thin out.

Dates, destinations, and activities for the rest of 2027 are still being finalized and may change. Montenegro is planned for 2028.

The right fit

These are adventures, not resort vacations.

You'll probably love it if you

  • Enjoy hiking, exploring, and spending time outdoors
  • Are fit enough to handle strenuous activity for several hours a day, several days in a row
  • Would rather be on the water than sit beside it
  • Love local food, culture, and places beyond the usual tourist routes
  • Enjoy meeting women with different experiences and perspectives
  • Are open to trying new things, even outside your usual routine

These trips are for active women.

Most days include several hours of hiking, paddling, or other strenuous activity, and some days keep us moving from morning until late afternoon. You don't need to be an elite athlete, but you do need to be in good physical shape and comfortable being active for extended hours, day after day.

Bold adventures. Remarkable women. Your spark reignited.
